The ECDIS &#8211; TRANSAS Type-Specific provides the trainees with the required knowledge about the general use of ECDIS as well as detailed introduction of the TRANSAS system\u2019s functionalities.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/cmu-edu.eu\/dp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/10\/ECDIS-classes.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-454\" src=\"https:\/\/cmu-edu.eu\/dp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/10\/ECDIS-classes.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3262\" height=\"1835\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cmu-edu.eu\/dp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/10\/ECDIS-classes.jpg 3262w, https:\/\/cmu-edu.eu\/dp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/10\/ECDIS-classes-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cmu-edu.eu\/dp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/10\/ECDIS-classes-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cmu-edu.eu\/dp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2018\/10\/ECDIS-classes-1024x576.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 3262px) 100vw, 3262px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>Course objective<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>On completion of the ECDIS &#8211; TRANSAS Type-Specific course, the trainees are expected to be able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>demonstrate competencies in the operation of ECDIS \u2013 TRANSAS equipment;<\/li>\n<li>demonstrate the understanding of the TRANSAS equipment, and especially the limitations in its use in navigation and decision-making process;<\/li>\n<li>understand the basic functions of the equipment (route planning, monitoring, operation, correction of charts, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>evaluate and respond to alarms of navigation equipment and effectively apply the recommended procedures for each situation.<\/li>\n<li>demonstrate knowledge to order and install charts licenses and updates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The training is consistent with the objectives of Code Sections A-II\/1, A-II\/2, B-I\/12, B-VIII\/2-3.1 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers,1978 as amended.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>Target group<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The course is designed for candidates who have completed ECDIS generic training and now require TRANSAS specific training.
