{"id":762,"date":"2023-02-08T08:46:46","date_gmt":"2023-02-08T08:46:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cmu-edu.eu\/dp\/?page_id=762"},"modified":"2026-06-17T13:26:35","modified_gmt":"2026-06-17T10:26:35","slug":"dp-induction-course","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cmu-edu.eu\/dp\/courses\/dp-induction-course\/","title":{"rendered":"DP Induction Course"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"clearfix ap-row\"><div class=\"ap_column ap-span3\"><h2>Course aim<\/h2>\n<p>The overall aim of the DP Induction Course is to provide participants with a basic understanding of Dynamic Positioning as well as the advantages and limitations of the DP control systems.<\/p>\n<p>The course didactic materials are written in English and the course will be held in English unless otherwise agreed.<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"ap_column ap-span3\"><div class=\"feecard\">\n<h1>Course Fee<\/h1>\n<div><em><strong>Duration: 4 days<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>1150 Euro<\/li>\n<li>850 Euro \u2013 For Constanta Maritime University Students<\/li>\n<li>145 Euro &#8211; NI DP Logbook<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a class=\"reg-btn\" href=\"https:\/\/cmu-edu.eu\/dp\/payment-information\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Payment Information<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"feecard\">\n<h1>Course objectives<\/h1>\n<p><strong>On completion of the course, the trainees are expected to be able to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul class=\"regulamente\">\n<li>Define the principles of DP;<\/li>\n<li>Recognize the component parts of a DP system;<\/li>\n<li>Understand the relationship between vessel movement, position reference systems, sensors, computers, propulsion units and feedback;<\/li>\n<li>Understand the concept of redundancy;<\/li>\n<li>Understand the DP modes of control;<\/li>\n<li>Describe the operation of sensors and common position reference systems;<\/li>\n<li>Describe the operation of computers;<\/li>\n<li>Describe propulsion units, types and configurations;<\/li>\n<li>Understand power supply, redundancy and management;<\/li>\n<li>Practice communication and watch handover procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"app-container\">\n<h1>Entry requirements for enrollment<\/h1>\n<h4>You have to fulfill one of the following conditions<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"lista-doi\">\n<li>Valid CoC according STCW qualification: Regulation II\/1 &#8211; II\/2 &#8211; II\/3 Deck or Regulation III\/1 \u2013 III \/2 \u2013 III\/3 Engine or Regulation III\/6 ETO; or<\/li>\n<li>Official approval form the Nautical Institute to attend the course for Marine Vocational Qualification; or<\/li>\n<li>The proof that the DP Candidates are on STCW training for Officer Trainees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr class=\"ap-spacing\" style=\"height:20px\"\/>\n<h1>Register online<\/h1>\n<p><a class=\"reg-btn\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLScgRJBZzokcgTGmVjdzQ8C-HPqQKUiwtze7Qvr-TIAXvsLGPQ\/viewform\">Registration and application<\/a><\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size: 1.6rem\">You will receive by email the confirmation of your registration request.<br \/>\nFor completing the registration you will be contacted by e-mail dp.umc.register@gmail.com<br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:dp.registration@cmu-edu.eu\">dp.registration@cmu-edu.eu<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<hr class=\"ap-spacing\" style=\"height:10px\"\/>\n<h2>Certificate<\/h2>\n<p>On successful completion of DP Induction course, the DP trainee will receive the Certificate for completion of DP Induction Course.
