Associate Prof. Dr. Cristina DRAGOMIR had a successful visiting Erasmus+ mobility at “Heinrich Heine” University (HHU) from Dusseldorf, Germany where she learned about actions necessary for the advancement of equal opportunities in academia and research. She has met Selma Meyer Mentoring Department team and university colleagues involved in Selma Meyer Mentoring Program in HHU. Ms. Dragomir got familiarised with the academic mentorship program for women, aims and objectives, main activities and the program’s impact in HHU. The mobility contributed to learning about methods of mentoring. During the mobility the participant shared best practice in implementation and monitoring of the institutional Gender Equality Plan (GEP), has discussed about GEP change agents and GEP action plan in HHU and has shared effective aspects about GEP implementation in Constanta Maritime University. Ms. Dragomir also shared the actions developed by CMU to empower more females for STEM education in the maritime.
During the mobility, the participant met with counterpart in the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. At the end of mobility, she discussed about the role and opportunity for Constanta Maritime University to join as an institutional member the European Network of Mentoring Programmes for the Advancement of Equal Opportunities and Cultural and Institutional Change in Academia and Research (eument-net). The participants discussed about the benefits of CMU for becoming part of the network, and the network’s expectations from CMU.
