TRAINING CENTRE POLICIES
1. Scope and Applicability
The policies outlined in this document apply to all training programmes, courses and modules delivered by the Constanța Maritime University Training Centre.
By enrolling in any course organised by the CMU Training Centre, participants confirm that they have read, understood and agreed to comply with the present policies.
2. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Participants may cancel their enrolment and receive a full refund of the course fee, excluding bank charges, provided that the cancellation request is submitted at least one (1) week prior to the course start date.
If cancellation occurs within one (1) week before the course begins, the course fee is not refundable. However, participants may request to reschedule their attendance to a later available training session, subject to availability.
Cancellations submitted within one (1) week before the course start date are not eligible for refund.
This policy ensures effective planning, optimal use of training resources and compliance with accreditation requirements.
3. Late Attendance (Late Coming) Policy
Punctual attendance is essential to ensure compliance with training standards, learning outcomes and certification requirements.
If, for justified reasons (such as flight delays, traffic conditions or border crossing procedures), a participant arrives late on the first day of the course, a delay of up to half a training day (maximum four hours) may be accepted.
Any missed training hours must be fully recovered by the participant during subsequent training days, under the coordination of the course instructor and training centre staff.
Late arrival exceeding the permitted limit may affect the participant’s eligibility to complete the course and/or obtain certification, in accordance with applicable standards.
4. GDPR and Data Protection Policy
The CMU Training Centre processes personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable national legislation.
Personal data are collected and processed solely for purposes related to:
- course registration and administration;
- delivery of training activities;
- assessment, certification and reporting to relevant authorities;
- compliance with legal and accreditation requirements.
Participants have the right to access, rectify, restrict or request the deletion of their personal data, in accordance with GDPR provisions.
Personal data are handled confidentially and protected against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Detailed information regarding data processing practices is provided in the CMU GDPR Privacy Notice, available on the Training Centre website and upon request.

5. Complaints Policy
The CMU Training Centre is committed to maintaining high standards of training quality and professional conduct.
Participants have the right to submit complaints regarding course delivery, training facilities and equipment, trainer performance, administrative procedures. All complaints shall be submitted in writing, handled objectively, fairly and confidentially, reviewed within a reasonable timeframe by the Training Centre management. Submitting a complaint will not result in any form of discrimination or disadvantage to the participant.
6. Health and Safety Policy
The CMU Training Centre is committed to providing a safe and healthy learning environment for all participants, trainers and staff.
Health and safety measures include:
- appropriate ventilation, lighting and noise control;
- compliance with fire safety regulations and emergency procedures;
- clearly marked emergency exits and evacuation routes;
- regular maintenance and safety checks of training equipment.
Participants are required to follow all health and safety instructions provided by trainers and staff, behave responsibly and avoid actions that may endanger themselves or others.
The consumption of alcohol during training activities or attendance under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas, in accordance with university regulations.
7. Final Provisions
The CMU Training Centre reserves the right to amend or update these policies as required by institutional regulations, accreditation standards or legal requirements.
Any updates will be communicated to participants in an appropriate manner.
