High Voltage Safety and Maintenance Course
High Voltage Safety and Maintenance Course is designed to provide participants with solid theoretical and practical knowledge required to understand the safe operation and maintenance procedures carried out periodically in high voltage naval and terrestrial installations.
Course aim
The main objective of the course is to familiarize the students with the basic concepts of exploiting and maintaining the equipment and the high voltage installations, under maximum safety conditions. The course is a combination of theoretical lessons and practical exercises: lecture, discussion as well as practical exercises developed for classroom activities.
On successful completion of the HV course, the trainees
are expected to be able to:
- Operate high-voltage equipment (switches, separators, transformers, electric panels) onboard modern ships;
- Demonstrate capability to use the high-voltage electrical equipment, the switchgear of any electrical power system of the naval power station;
- Understand the way in which diagrams are created, the role and location of components;
- Carry out manoeuvres and conceive manoeuvre charts;
- Demonstrate technical capabilities to detect types of defects in high voltage systems and to carry out maintenance procedures.
Registration
The administrative registration of trainees is completed by CMU Training Centre in accordance with the following steps.
Step 1. Entry requirements
- General knowledge of electro-technics, electromechanics,
electricity. - High school diploma in technical field.
Step 2. Application process (Application Form)
- By e-mail sent to dp.registration@cmu-edu.eu. Applicants send the application form by e-mail and they will be confirmed and coordinated for the next step by the Training Centre Secretary;
- Desk office: From Monday to Friday 08.00 – 11.00, applicants have the possibility to pass the application form in the printed copy at Constanta Maritime University, 104, Mircea cel Batran St., 900663, Secretary Office E107. The confirmation for registration will be sent by e-mail to the applicant.
- The Training Centre Secretary communicates to students enrollment pack outlining course timetable, accommodation, transport, location and the contact details of the Training Centre.
Once the application was received and confirmed by CMU Training Centre the applicant may proceed to the next step.
Step 3. Payment
High Voltage Safety and Maintenance Course course fee – 1000 RON
Discount for CMU students 700 RON.

Once the payment was completed the Training Centre Secretary sends by email the course timetable to the trainees.
TRAINING PERIODS are scheduled according to the application form
High Voltage Safety and Maintenance Course is scheduled in advance to provide to our prospective trainees, the possibility to book the course and accommodation in a timely manner.
The trainees will receive the Certificate of High Voltage Safety and Maintenance course completion recognized by The Nautical Institute for the purpose of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

CANCELLATION POLICY
The candidates may cancel the course and receive full refund (except for the bank charges) if cancellation occurs more than one week before the course starts. Otherwise, within the last week before the course begins, the trainees may reschedule their attendance to a later available training session. Cancellation within the week before the course begins is not possible; in such case, the course fee is not refundable to trainees
