Draft Survey Course

Course aim

The overall aim of the Draft Survey Course is to provide participants with solid marine knowledge required to understand the role of the marine draft surveyor, details of the surveys, inspections, claims, calculation methods and procedures to carry out draft survey and writing reports necessary to become draft surveyor.

The course didactic materials are written in English and the course will be held in English unless otherwise agreed.

Course objectives

On completion of the course, the trainees are expected to be able to:

  • Understand the meaning, the role and the liabilities of marine draft surveyor;
  • Understanding the methods to perform a draft reading and calculation procedures in a draught survey;
  • Apply and deliver procedures and documentations about draught reading and calculation methods for consumables like fuel, bulk, freshwater;
  • Understand and apply the Load Lines Convention to perform hydrostatic information of the ship;
  • Be able to work with the special programs for a draft survey and to determine the ship’s constant.

Entry requirements for enrollment

You have to fulfill one of the following conditions

  • Upper Secondary School graduate with Baccalaureate Diploma (Bachelor’s Degree);
  • General knowledge of seamanship.

Certificate

On successful completion of Draft Survey Course, the trainees will receive the Certificate for completion of  Course. The course is recognized by The Nautical Institute for the purpose of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
