We invite you to the 2nd Edition of the World Maritime Education and Training Multidisciplinary Congress (WMETMC), taking place from October 12 to October 14, 2026, at Constanta Maritime University (CMU) in Constanta, Romania.

The World Maritime Education and Training Multidisciplinary Congress (WMETMC) has emerged as a prominent global platform that unites academia, experts, policymakers, and industry leaders. Its purpose is to tackle the pressing challenges in the maritime sector and its interconnected fields, while promoting collaboration and innovation for a better future.

The event is co-organized by Constanta Maritime University, The Nautical Institute, and Stödig Ship Management.
As the global marine environment faces unprecedented pressures, this year’s Congress Theme is “CHARTING INNOVATIVE PATHWAYS TOWARDS A GREENER AND MORE RESILIENT MARITIME FUTURE.”


Key Highlights of the Congress

Inspiring Keynote Speakers: Hear from esteemed representatives from the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), The Nautical Institute United Kingdom, industry leaders from Stödig Ship Management Norway, and experts from maritime education and research institutions, including the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific, Philippines.

Panel Discussions: Engage as speakers or authors of papers in insightful discussions that explore the challenges and opportunities within the Maritime Industry and Maritime Training and Education.

Workshops and Breakout Sessions: Participate in hands-on workshops designed to improve skills and knowledge in various areas of the Maritime Industry and Maritime Education.

The Congress program will cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to Best Practices in Maritime Education and Training, Maritime Safety and Security, Environmental Sustainability, Offshore Industry, Technological Advancements, Cybersecurity Risk Management, Ocean Economy, Maritime Law, Ocean Engineering, Ocean Energy, Green Port and Shipping, Shipbuilding, Marine Management and Environmental Protection, Ocean Science.

Participants will explore innovative solutions to the challenges facing the marine industry through speeches and panel discussions. They will consider the current state of ocean research and examine the latest trends in marine technologies. This three-day Congress features a practical series of activities designed to keep participants engaged, including workshops, parallel symposia, oral presentations, and lively poster sessions.
