Application Process and Selection Criteria

  1. Eligibility: Candidates must be cadets enrolled at Constanta Maritime University.
  2. Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English is required, as all operations and communications are conducted in English.
  3. Resume and Academic Results Submission: Cadets should submit their applications, including a resume and academic results, to tuga@wallem.com. Please also send a copy of your resume to our Romanian recruitment agent, Bright Maritime Services, at brightmaritime@bright.rodanc@bright.ro.
  4. Initial Selection: Candidates will be selected based on their resume and academic performance.
  5. Testing: Selected candidates will be required to take the CES Test (for Deck Cadets and Engine Cadets) and the COLREGS Test (for Deck Cadets only), and a Psychometric Test – SEAPERT/MHI Test.
  6. Interview: Candidates who pass the tests will be invited for an online interview with Wallem.
  7. Final Selection: Based on the interview results, candidates will be selected and assigned to ships.
  8. Medical Fitness: After the selection and assignment of ships, candidates must meet the maritime medical standards. Failing to meet these standards will result in disqualification from joining and recruitment with Wallem.

Contract and Wages

  • Contract Period: The contract period will be a minimum of 6-7 months.
  • Wages: Wages will be as per Wallem standards or equivalent to USD 505, or as per Owners’ approved wages.
